I am very glad to be here. It would be better if there were more opportunities to interact with younger people on a regular basis. One thing I miss is interesting discussions about current events. I do enjoy the programs they offer on Zoom that teach about famous composers, etc. I moved here because this place is many times better in all ways. Another place that seemed amenable was too expensive. My interaction with the staff has been very good.... Read more

In March, I finally forgo my fear of a stressful move & joined Youville. The move went smoothly, & I had a dinner partner to feel at home. The housekeeping staff helped me to sleep on my freshly made bed the first night. My daughter visited me to help me to settle in- She was impressed with the smooth running of the facility commenting "I could also get old here." I appreciate that the management sees us, as “individuals" not just ‘paying tenants. They respect each resident here as a retired but experienced contributor to society. Management genuinely values & respects the retirees’ needs for the remembrance of personal pride &dignity. There are programs designed for seniors to share their expertise & memory. A weekly ‘Open Rehearsals’ program allows residents to enjoy a retired music teacher expertise with a piano recital. A new program, ‘True Stories’ offers the residents the opportunity to grace us with their memorable life stories & culture. I enjoy my life at Youville very much.

In [date removed], my sister-in-law moved into Youville. As her only living relative, I manage my sister-in-law's finances and health care needs. First and foremost, my sister-in-law has been very happy at Youville. She feels safe, well cared for, valued and enjoys the numerous activities offered for socialization. As a care-giver, I've found Youville to be very responsive to any concerns I have regarding my sister-in-law well being or needs. In the worst of times in 2020, Youville's management and staff have were ready, willing and able to assist with skill, kindness, concern and love. I feel my sister-in-law now has an extended family, as do I, thanks to management and staff at Youville. There can be tough days and obstacle, and nothing in life is ever perfect, but Youville comes close!

The Youville House is a wonderful community, it is very pleasing to look at with all the décor and the rooms are nicely furnished. The staff here are very good and they have lots of activities - they are limited right now with covid but usually they have a lot of different things including music entertainment. The AC system works very well. They have a wonderful meals and dining program - the chef puts the meals together and before it gets put on the menu it goes through a dietary checklist and the meals are a great variety. I could not be happier I am very satisfied

my mother in law moved in Youville House for specific Parkinson's support they offered, but when she arrived we learned that there was little to no support although that was the driving force for us choosing this community. the nursing staff was great, but their marketing team seemed like they just wanted to fill a bed there and didn't have her best interest. from the front desk staff to the dining staff, they were all great but we really struggled with their management team and the people who sold the community to us- it just wasn't the best experience. during the tour we were told there was supposed to be a Parkinson's support group, exercise classes, and medication management. we inquired about all of those things, but it quickly became complicated. the Parkinson's group simply did not exist. the exercise class was too advanced. they presented the medication management as a program that would sort and bring up medication on time, but we found that they had trouble sorting the medication or bringing it up at the right time. I really feel like they oversold the physical support that they would be able to provide. she had several falls and they told us it wouldn't work unless we got her more help - but we were under the impression that they would be that help? there was a big difference in what was shown during our tour and what happened when she moved in, I feel like they oversold us. it's also important to note that she went to rehab for three weeks and no one called or checked in on her, and I found that very concerning - it just wasn't a good experience.

A Place for Mom has scored Youville House 8.4 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
