November 6, 2023Thank you for your kind words! We certainly are excited that your uncle will be joining our Terrace family. Reach out please if you should need anything! Lisa McDonough Executive Director Terrace At Chestnut Hill
I'm grateful for the assistance that A Place for Mom provided. My parent was at one location that I was not satisfied with and their recommendation was invaluable. The Terrance like all nursing homes is not perfect but they are respectful, responsive and really try to do their best to provide excellent service. We picked this community because of the accommodations, facilities, staff and price.

Our tour at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill was good, they seemed very nice. After evaluation, they thought memory care was right for my mom but [facility name removed] recommended regular assisted living. To us, that seemed like a better fit for my moms needs at the time so we went with them.

July 24, 2023Thank you for your feedback. It is very much appreciated that you took the time out of your busy schedule to leave this review.
It's not bad for a place. I would let my dad go back if he recovers from his latest medical problem. People were very friendly and most seemed to care about everyone. We picked this community because of the location.

My family and loved one had a good experience with the community. The staff are kind, caring, and helpful. Everyone seems friendly. The community is clean when we visit. The staff take good care of the residents, and they take their time in getting to know the residents personally. Overall, we would recommend the community to others for their loved ones.

Staff are very friendly and caring. The director of sales and marketing is awesome. The nursing staff is on top of all the patients. They noticed a change in my Dad that required him to go to the ER. They notified me immediately and made arrangements for him to be transported. There are daily activities for the residents so they aren't just sitting alone in their rooms. Although residents have the option to eat in their rooms, meals are served in the dining room, and tables have linen table cloths and napkins. Servers take your order and serve the food and beverages. Menu changes daily. There is also an all day menu with items like burgers and hot dogs. The staff really gets to know the residents so it feels like a family environment. The grounds are gorgeous and residents are able to go outside to enjoy. I'm very thankful, happy and blessed that my dad is there and thriving! For the most part my experience has been positive. Where there were concerns, I was able to discuss with staff and have them quickly resolved.

May 5, 2023What a fabulous review! We appreciate when residents and families share their experiences.
Our family had an in person tour with The Terrace at Chestnut Hill and we really enjoyed the admission person that we had met with, but the community itself just seemed old, worn out, dark and cramped so it wasn't going to be the best fit for our loved one.
My loved one described the community as "horrible" and I would agree. My loved one observed roaches in the building. Another time she reported that she was left on the toilet for a very long time. As far as activiites; they offer music but nothing mentally stimulating. Some of the staff were very kind; others very mean. I would absolutely NOT recommend this place to anyone!

These numbers are based on my experience with Terrace of Chestnut Hill. My mother's feet were so swollen for over a month where she couldn't put a shoe on also, she was never seen by a podiatrist in the almost 4 months that she was there her toenails are like claws. Also I saw a patient fall and the staff just picked the patient up off of the floor and put her back in the chair. Never wrote an incident report.

My mother was only there for less than a month. Didn't really have a chance to get a full community experience in that short time. Even though it was a short experience, it was a good experience.

They did not clean the rooms. They routinely let her run out of toilet paper, clothes were lost. There were no activities although the showed us daily calendars of activities prior to signing up. They expected people in memory care to advocate for themselves. It was bad.

It's dysfunctional communication between administrators and health staff. Food service is disorganized and inconsistent. Sometimes residents do not get meals.

The community felt dated and not as clean as the family had hoped for.
They seem to be a bit understaffed here. But the staff they do have are very pleasant. My loved one has had no complaints other than the food. She really doesn't like it, says the quality is not good. She doesn't participate in the activities and they don't seem to try and encourage resident participation in general. Housekeeping does a good job keeping things clean and with laundry services. Overall, I would probably recommend them to family and friends.

The people are very friendly. It's a clean facility. They're just having a problem with their kitchen right now. They're understaffed, so my person is not necessarily getting what he wants to eat.

There have been some issues with the care. Long call bell responses My loved one fell out of bed and was sent to the ER and they did not contact the family even though they said they did. Poor communication on medical care coordination. A couple of medical issues have not been properly handled.

It's socially a really good place to be, which is important. The residents can have their own private room. There is also, the option to have a roommate, which helps to keep down the costs. They provide different levels of care.

A Place for Mom has scored The Terrace at Chestnut Hill 8.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
