January 18, 2024Thank you for your review. Our goal is to create the best environment possible for our residents and we greatly appreciate hearing your feedback.
When touring this community, it felt very comfortable and accommodating. This is a very good option for someone who needs extra care, and this is a top choice for our loved one who is currently in search of an assisted living community.

October 17, 2023Thank you for your kind comments and for recognizing The Palazzo as a great place for your loved one.
My parent has lived at The Palazzo for a few years in independent living and it has definitely been the right place for him. The staff is attentive and truly cares about the residents. Both staff and residents smile often and seem happy on a regular basis. The activity program is extensive and the happy hours at the bar are not to be missed. We also enjoy the music concerts held every Tuesday afternoon. The rates are better than most other places nearby and we have been very happy at the community.

September 13, 2023Thanks for your review! We are glad you and your loved one are enjoying your time with us.
My mother loves the activities their but complains about the food. The main reason we chose The Palazzo over other places we looked at was because of the large Jewish population. I would improve this facility as long as they improve the food quality. They keep promising that things are going to improve soon.

June 15, 2023Thank you for your kind words. Our staff and residents appreciate it when their community is recognized for excellence. Thank you for taking the time to share your observations and feelings.
This facility has to be one of the worst senior living communities in the greater Phoenix area. Horrible staff, terrible management, and they only care about are the dollars that they can extract from the residents. My father has been treated awful by the staff and recently had to relocate to the assisted living section of the community which in my opinion is where they send people to die. My father was reluctant to move since he had his own apartment and had his dog that is his only friend and companion since none of his family lives in the state. They would not allow my father to take his beloved dog to the assisted living section and talked him into letting one of the staff members adopt his dog, which he agreed to since the staff member said that she would bring my fathers dog to visit him weekly. I came to find out just recently that the person who works at the Palazzo and took my fathers dog, lost the dog only after having custody of the dog for one month.

June 15, 2023We’re very sorry to hear about this experience that you've shared. We would like to assure you that we take every review seriously and are committed to addressing the issues you have raised. We strive to provide a compassionate and supportive environment for all residents, and any behavior that falls short of this standard is not indicative of our values as an organization. Regarding your father's relocation to the assisted living section, we understand that this transition can be challenging for both residents and their families. Many of our residents transfer between independent and assisted living, which is not unusual for long-term residents. While we aim to accommodate individual circumstances to the best of our ability, we do have certain policies in place to ensure the well-being and safety of all our residents. We have since been in touch with your loved one and his POA and they have expressed gratitude in our handling these matters. However, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your personal concerns in more detail so please email us at info@palazzohc.com. Thank you.
Beautiful and modern inside, lots of activities, excellent food. Staff is friendly, approachable, and management is very present in the community. I felt they were very careful and thorough in assessing our very complicated needs. I would, and actually have, highly recommend.

April 19, 2023Julia, thank you for your very kind words and overall review of The Palazzo. The residents and employees truly appreciate your noticing the positive environment they live/work in. We appreciate you!!
I liked the community and it was nice. It came down to how quickly a community was ready and available for my loved one. My loved one preferred another apartment at a different community.

April 19, 2023Thank you for your kind review. We are pleased to hear you found a place that could meet your timeline. Should anything change, please check back with us as we have a few newly renovated apartments coming back into inventory in the very near future.
My parents chose The Palazzo because of the proximity to where they previously lived, the proximity to their medical appointments, and they had good first impressions. I would recommend this facility to others.

October 25, 2022Hi Cheryl, We are thrilled to hear you are happy with experience for your parents at The Palazzo. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with others. We greatly appreciate it.
It was tough in the first 90 days for my in-laws because of COVID. They had to quarantine and the food was not up to standards because it was delivery only. Now that things are getting back to normal, they should be feeling better and better about Palazzo.

August 23, 2022Thank you for your review. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss further. All managers eat lunch at The Palazzo so we dine on the same meals as the residents which ensures we have good quality controls in place plus it allows us to taste the same food as our residents so I would be happy to hear your thoughts on this matter. I also like to share that not only do I work at The Palazzo, but my dad lives here in independent living so I have the opportunity to see the community from both angles - as an employee and as a family member. Thank you!!
Where the residents, would be is in a separate building than the dining room and activities.
I toured The Palazzo and administration was very nice & informative. The girl who I was working with asked if I or anyone I knew had been in the military. I informed her that my second husband was a lifer, and she said I should check into that. Because of her, I found that while I'm living in independent living I'll have to foot the bill; but when I move over to assisted living have to pay they'll cover it. I chose another community because I didn't like that The Palazzo had carpet everywhere. It didn't look healthy or clean.
Response from The Palazzo
August 23, 2022Hello, as a veteran, you may have benefits that assist in your paying for independent living as well as assisted living. You should contact the VA to discuss. You commented that there's carpet everywhere, but that confuses me. Our apartments are all newly renovated with new flooring - no carpet and most of our common area have tile/flooring. We do have new carpet in the lobby, but once you pass the lobby in either direction, the floors are tiled. Please visit our virtual tour on our website to confirm for yourself that what I am saying is accurate. Thanks again for visiting The Palazzo.
This reviews only pertains to the memory care area. First, the smell once you get to the memory care area is stomach churning. Second, they are understaffed and most staff there doesn’t seem to care anyway! There are probably so many falls and injuries that go unreported. This place almost killed my grandmother! The residents in this area are no longer able to remember things so they can’t explain how they have major bruising or what happened so no one is held accountable. If staff does not have patience they have no business working with these vulnerable people. Arizona needs to step it up for our elderly!

A Place for Mom has scored The Palazzo 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
