The presentation was impressive, the actuality less than. The Montera met most of our criteria. Perfection may be elusive, particularly in today's challenges for the care community. The most important issues are health, safety and the overall experience and satisfaction of the resident. While supporting staff, work in a positive way to ensure that quality is a priority.

Front Desk and all Staff are very friendly and helpful. My mom likes the food, however, the dining room in memory care is not as nice as the assisted living dining room. My mom likes many of the activities in memory care. Especially, the musical activities. it's expensive, but probably worth the cost. The Montera seems to be managed fairly well.

What we really like about The Montera community is the staff members as well as the meals - they were excellent. They did the best they could. There were some irritations at first but overall the people were great and honest. Based on the experience we have had with The Montera, we would recommend this community to other families looking for a community for their loved ones

As an MBK Senior Living community, we value honest feedback as it helps us to continuously improve and make certain we're meeting the needs of the residents and families we serve. We're pleased to hear that our team members at The Montera were able to address concerns quickly and effectively.
Initially, leading up to signing the contract, the communication was positive. The salespeople were very good about responding to emails and questions. However, when it came time to sign the paperwork, they had put a higher room rental rate on our agreement. When asked about the higher rate the Executive Director, responded that it was the “market rate.” It was determined that our mother needed a fairly high level of care (level 5 out of 6) however, we never got the services we were paying for because they are so short staffed. During the sales process, we were shown one room, but as we were moving our mother in, they put her in a different room with less square footage. Classic bait and switch. There was no orientation, and no instruction as to how medical records should be incorporated

Out of respect for our residents (current or past) privacy, we cannot address the specifics of your mother's care needs or housing arrangements. We will say we work hard daily to support and educate families, based on our 30+ years of experience, and utilize that knowledge along with healthcare assessments to ensure care is appropriate and personalized to their loved ones. That can change during the sales process, and we do our best to make sure all parties understand why and provide them with options to make informed decisions. The Montera has earned a reputation for high-quality care by giving this individualized service and attention to families and residents. In fact, the community just was named "The Best" Assisted Living by U.S. News & World Report based on the statistical assessment of a community's performance from consumer satisfaction surveys. That said, we are sorry you left The Montera feeling dissatisfied and will utilize your feedback as a learning experience of how we can better communicate with families as needs change or grow.
We are so happy that my parents chose The Montera as their new home. I have peace of mind knowing that if they need help, it's there 24/4. My folks are 94 and 95 and are able to take advantage of all The Montera has to offer! There are lots of activities, and everyone is so friendly and helpful. The place is very nice looking but overall not a warm place. There is one nurse that is kind but I don't remember her name. They seem to be friendly when we toured, but of course that's how they get you in, right? They don't communicate on a timely manner when meds need refills.
