I love the location. My daughter lives in Bryn Mawr (where I grew up) and I have two other children in Minneapolis. I am lucky to have a Southwest corner location and I can see planes flying in from the West, places in my childhood memory, and the seasons change (leaves). I’ve never heard of crossword since I moved in!... Read more

The Kenwood is good for me because I am close to my two sons and their families. Windows in my apartment are large, which offers me a great view of the downtown Minneapolis skyline. The windows also allow a lot of light into my apartment. Dining room servers and staff are always welcoming and friendly.

Welcome to my home where the whole atmosphere is welcoming from staff to residents and aids. You would feel welcome. I love my view, the room space, and cleaning help. No one should be lonely or bored, because the many activities, led by experts. You would be happy to give up cooking because the food is very good! You couldn’t find a more educated group of friends.

There are many great things about The Kenwood, but the view is special. Some of my friends live in places like ours and their apartments are similar, but we have the gift of bringing the outside in day and night. It’s spectacular!

Our health is great, but our years make it clear that this won’t last forever. For us, life at The Kenwood is independence plus safety and services. Our city location is terrific. We’re near family and friends; within minutes of libraries, health clubs, grocery stores, churches, parks, and every amenity of urban life that’s meant everything to us over the decades. We still drive - delighted to park our car in our heated garage. Two major bus lines are a block away. The Kenwood van is here if we need it. And the walkable neighborhood is worth its weight in gold. Of course, old friends and interest shifts as we age, but The Kenwood defies the notion that growing old shrinks our lives. Instead, we find new friends and new opportunities. Discussions are rich, memories are enhanced, and anytime we step out of the privacy of our apartment, new interests are near at hand. Independence, opportunities, services keep us young. We’ve found them all at The Kenwood

We love our apartment at The Kenwood, which has gorgeous views of the city. It’s just a short walk to a lovely park. There are some excellent programs and good conversations with people from diverse backgrounds. Management is thoughtful and efficient. A good place for us.

The staff members are very understanding and caring which is the biggest thing and based on our experience so far we would recommend The Kenwood to other families.
Our family had an in person tour and we thought their programming was fabulous. We really liked the community a lot, it seemed like it was a well run facility and we thought our loved one would of enjoyed it there. What was challenging about Kenwood is their apartments, they were quite old fashion and even though we really liked the style our loved one did not.
The staff is very caring and engaged. Communication is good between the staff and our family. They keep us well informed and have a monthly letter that goes out and also send out emails when needed. I would recommend this community to others

We really like our 3bdrm apartment here. They need a little improvement on housekeeping it could be better. They serve 3 really good meals a day. The offer a shuttle to go to the grocery store or the doctor. They offer tons of activities like movies, games or music. I would recommend this community.

I have no complaints of how things had went during my tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan as well as other great amenities they had available to the residents. Overall it was a great place just was not the right fit for myself in the end decision.

[Removed] gave my daughter and me a very good tour. It is a fine facility except that it is 'too' vertical. There is a definite 'pinch point' at the two elevators, and they are all used to get all residents to the 2nd floor where all the facilities are.

I have no complaints about how things are going for my loved one since he is staying at this community. The staff are friendly and helpful to all of his needs. He did mention that they could improve on there activities and have more of a variety at meal time. I would recommend it to anyone.

We like the community. We have been able to meet a lot of new people. The staff is caring and attentive. The community is very nice and maintained to enjoy. The area is very close to other family members. We like living here and highly recommend this community for other families for a nice place to call home with a nice value.

[Removed] was very welcoming and accommodating. There wasn't a microwave in the apartment and she got one for my father. The food in the dining room is tasty with a nice selection. My father's furnished apartment is small but comfortable and was perfect while he recovered from his broken foot. There are several activities but attendance is sporadic. Sometime 3-4 people show up and other times 50 people attend. Residents are very friendly but tend to sit together at meals without much shifting around. My father was given a "greeter" and Bob has been incredibly welcoming and informative...making my father's time at the Kenwood comfortable.

I have no complaints with how things are going for my loved one since they made the move into this community. The staff have all been helpful and accommodating to all of his needs the best as they possibly can. He has enjoyed his dinning experience as well as participating in a few of the activities they offer to the residents throughout the day. I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

The Kenwood was a very nice place, but they have slightly less assistance than what my mother needed. The staff was very friendly and the person that took me around was very informative. It was a good experience, but not the right fit.

My aunt is happy and feels like the staff are taking care of her. They are helping with medication and she knows that any staff is a quick call away if she needs anything. She has a fine meal plan to eat from. I like that she is in the university area with more to do. It's a good place that has a homey environment and more ideal for people who are active. It was the only place with availability and nursing care that can lift people.

My parents just moved in, but I had been preparing their apartment for nearly a month. The kindness and friendliness has been outstanding. The people, both residents and staff, are what makes this place really special. I've gotten help in figuring this senior/assisted care stuff all out (it's all new and foreign to me) from many people there. They've been patient and kind. Never feel like I'm being brushed off--they always have time for me.

A Place for Mom has scored The Kenwood 9.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
