The Gardens at Park Balboa

I'm a fairly new resident at the Gardens and the transition was very smooth. [name removed], the marketing Director was magnificent, he made the impossible possible and it was very thorough. The community has great activities throughout the day. We have chair volleyball daily, bingo, karaoke, arts and crafts, Spanish classes and now I will be teaching French to the residents as since I'm French.

Everybody in my community makes me feel like I'm home! The residents are sweet, the staff is so nice to me! I get excellent care everyday. The front desk people are lovely, every time I go for a walk the staff says nice things to me. Lovely lovely place, and my room is always clean and shiny.

The staff is wonderful, very kind and understanding. The activities are fun, we constantly have different activities. The caregivers are great, the residents are very nice and some aren't but a big percentage of the residents are lovely. Great place with good people.

I love living at the Gardens at Park Balboa, we always have great food, multiple activities and friendly staff. The activity director is very friendly and The social media director is so helpful and kind. I recommend living at the Gardens. You won't regret it.

I don't have much to compare it to. Ultimately, it has been serving my loved one, though at times I do feel like the staff could be more attentive. I would possibly recommend them to other families who are looking.

We placed our loved one here at a board and care home because they have Armenian speaking staff. It seems like a pretty good fit so far. You get what you pay for. They really need to hire more staff to help out though. I think it is a good place for those who have smaller budgets.

The staff at The Gardens really take care of their residents. My mom has told me several times that she feels safe there and everyone is friendly. If she needs anything, all she has to do is ask. The fact that she can also have her two cats there is such a blessing. She's eating well and getting all her medications given to her properly. They encourage the activities daily, but she can opt out if she wants.

On the whole, it's positive. But I think you get what you pay for. The staff is not necessarily as friendly or as helpful as I would like them to be. And the building is older and a bit dilapidated. But it is affordable. So it's a mixed bag - but on the whole, positive.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. My loved one seems very happy here. This is a smaller and more quaint and has a good value compared to the other communities we looked at. The residents seem very well cared for. The staff communication with the family is very good. There is weekly housekeeping including laundry for the residents. Some of the care offered includes medication management, dressing and bathing assistance.

I recently moved to the Gardens at Park Balboa in Van Nuys California and I have to tell you, the seasonings and spices on the food are just right. The dessert are good but I like the whole meals better. The staff cares about residents, and is always extremely friendly. Lovely community!

I love the freedom in the dining room, I could easily get a drink from the soda machine. I also love the gardens, we have plenty of greenery. The staff is very friendly (Good overall).

The managers are very professional, polite and with good sense of humor. The dining room is always clean, the food is great. The dining room is also very comfortable and pleasant.

First of all, I love all the plants in the gardens, we have so many beautiful flowers! The community is always clean and smells good. The food is really good and the servers are excellent. The residents are always nice to me. Good place!

The food is really good, the chicken salad is delicious. Really I can't say enough good things about Assisted Living and the staff Very grateful for their caring help. I give the Gardens a 5+

What a wonderful facility, Full of soul and compassion, competence and efficiency! We are immensely grateful to its amazing management and nurse. I couldn't recommend it more. 10 stars!

I'm a resident at the Gardens senior living and I would like to say, the food is great, so tasty! The staff is so friendly and very accommodating. My apartment is fairly big and I have a beautiful view! 5/5

This is the only place you should be calling if you are looking for a senior living in the Van Nuys area! the staff is very knowledgeable about the community. The food is really good and I always get my meals the way I like them. Lastly, I give the Gardens a 10/5!

The food is really good, and the cost is far. Everyone is very friendly; servers, office people, visitors, residents every single person. After, looking at other places the cos is very fair. It's a good value. I'm very pleased.

Every morning I look forward to breakfast. Everything is very good, I like the french toast and eggs! Overall it's a good environment, the staff is very friendly and always nice! The caregivers are very accomodating.
