It has been an enjoyable experience for my loved one. She is much younger than the other residents, so some things she's not as interested in. But she joined a Scrabble group and plays Scrabble every day. And she has made friends. The staff has been good. I like that it's a smaller place, with only about 50 beds. So the staff knows all of the residents, and it's a more personal facility.

The time here was during the pandemic with restrictions. The community has memory care. There are a lot of times when I visit the residents are asleep around a common area. The caregiver is sitting with the residents. This is a concern for me. I'm not getting a sense of activities for the residents. My concern with the pandemic is I'm not understanding with mask wearing and restrictions, especially children visiting with the residents vaccinated. They are requiring for children under 14 window visits or outside by schedule only. It would be nice to see the family inside the community for our loved one.

We chose Symphony Square because they were one of the highest rated facilities for dementia residents and they keep them safe and busy. The room sizes are perfect for her, she has a 1 bedroom apartment. They just started activities up again after covid and are doing great at keeping her busy. She loves the food, they are chef prepared meals. The location is very nice, not too far from the city. and I would recommend them t others who are looking.

My experience with my mom at Symphony Square was beyond wonderful. The attentiveness and friendliness of the staff from the activities, dining, reception as well as the nursing/care services was exceptional. Everyone made my mom feel comfortable and right at home as well as myself as I visited often. The facility is kept immaculate at all times and it is evident that the maintenance crew takes pride in doing so. I highly recommend Symphony Square if you are considering it for your loved one. It will be the best decision you will make for them as well as for you.

My mother has been living at Symphony Square for just over 3 months. The pandemic has taken its emotional toll upon my mother, as it has for many seniors. After careful consideration and virtual tours of the many fine assisted living communities in the local area, she chose, and we heartily supported, her decision to move to Symphony Square. My mother has now been living at Symphony Square for just over 3 months. The entire staff has been working tirelessly to make this a safe and welcoming home. Due to everyone's efforts, Symphony Square has remained Covid free, a remarkable accomplishment, and one for which I am very grateful. Furthermore, Symphony Square was among the first assisted living communities to acquire and perform Covid vaccinations. Despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, the staff has risen to face them with what I consider the 4 essential C's: compliance to mandated guidelines, common sense, compassion, and camaraderie.

We have had an amazing experience with Symphony Square. They take great care of her, they do her hair and her nails here as well. The staff members here are awesome and they really care about my wife. They have been very good with communication and have been great at keeping their residents safe. Now that it’s a month since my husband, the Honorable [name removed] ( RET.) passed away. I want to let people know that in the four yrs. he was a resident at Symphony Square, he was well taken care of. I never worried he was losing weight, he kept busy , because there was always something to do. I knew He had a lot of serious health problems, but [name removed] and her staff were there for him. The many times they sent him to the hospital , he always returned to Sympony Sq. The staff were attentive and pleasant to him. I was there almost every day , and found the facility clean and smelled from a nice fragrance Go visit symphony Sq. And see for yourself. Thank you all for all you did for us. P.S. every holiday so great.

January 27, 2021Please accept our sincere condolences at the loss of your loved one. We sincerely thank you so much for taking time to share your experience with Symphony Square. We’ll share your comments with our team, it means a lot to hear that. If you have anything further to share, please reach out to us and we wish you the best. - Alison
Overall, they do a great job keeping the community clean. We think their normal schedule of cleaning the individual resident rooms could be a little more frequent. For the most part, the staff is friendly. The staff was great about having certain scheduled weekly activities like singing, and dancing, and we were able to coordinate a driver to take our father off-community for shopping drips. We do think they could have a little more diversity in terms of what they offer as activities since the residents are all at different cognitive levels. We do think Symphony Square is a relatively good value considering the other communities in the region. We also think the dinning manager is particularly attentive to where they seat the different residents and the chef does make an effort to accommodate for nutritional needs. We do think, however, some more accommodations could be helpful for those with stricter dietary needs.

We toured Symphony Square and it was a nice community, more like a luxury hotel. The staff was friendly and were very helpful in answering the questions we had. The community was laid out so that no one could wander. It didn't have the homey feel we were looking for. It seemed quiet and subdued. We needed something more active for my loved one.

My parents are very happy at Symphony Square it is beautifully decorated, and they are starting to join in some of the many activities that are offered there. There are also field trips with shopping and special events for the residents who want to join in. My parents like the dining area and the food is fantastic. I am very comfortable with my parents being at Symphony Square.

This is a nice community, and my tour of it went pretty well. The community from what I was shown looked nice, everything was nice, and clean. Everyone was kind to my family, and I. I didn't feel this was the community for my father, but they treated us very well during our tour.

Symphony Square is more up to date for hard of hearing and deaf residents. They are having ASL classes at the facility for the employees. They do have an employee is very fluent in ASL. The Caregiver Aids are assigned to the resident rooms/apt to check on them and assist for what they need on a daily basis.I think this is the best fit for my parents to have the care, be secure, safe and comfortable in their own room/apt.

Tour by[Removed]- Very nice designated assisted care facility. Well maintained, friendly staff. One bedroom deluxe room was good size with nice window views. Scheduled a follow-up visit with Mother-in Law to see. It is located in a residential community with not much area around the facility.

From the initial visit, the staff at Symphony Square treated my parents as individuals and still vital contributors to society -- this would not be a move into a facility or an 'old folks home'. The common areas of Symphony Square are furnished as a hotel or community vs the more severe setting in other assisted living places we visited. Also there are more food options than at other places with breakfast and lunch made to order. It has been a big transition for my parents -- moving from a large home to a small apartment (2 bedrooms, sitting area, and kitchenette) yet both agree that Symphony Square offers sufficient space for what is needed by them at this time. The staff is kind, helpful, and respectful -- very pleased with Symphony Square.

A Place for Mom has scored Symphony Square 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
