St. Andrew's Village

The St. Andrew's Village community is already working on improving the restoration of apartments before someone moves in. This might have been bad timing for us , however the staff are now pretty nice.

What stood out to me about this facility is the culture promoted.....it's just fantastic. The staff and residents were all sincere, friendly and helpful -both to my loved one and myself. Cost was a factor and we felt St Andrew's provided the biggest bang for the buck. The facilities and amenities were perfect for my loved one, particularly at his age. Activities were interesting and varied, very helpful for my loved one who had limited vision. Housekeeping was provided every other week and included bathrooms, vacuuming, trash, basic kitchen cleaning, etc... There were staff shortages at times, similar to virtually anywhere else, so things like housekeeping were skipped once. They also struggled to perfect building security. I would say we were involved in my loved one's life and care multiple times weekly, so I'm not able to comment on staff attentiveness. I heartily recommend St Andrew's. We encountered few difficulties and my loved one was very happy there.

My mom is happy there. They have lot to offer. There are good, friendly staff there. They promote and encourage getting to know other residents, which my mom likes. And the apartments are really nice as well.

The staff isn't good at communicating with the family. They have quite a few staff that don't speak English and this has been hard for my loved one to understand them. This is especially difficult in the dining room and with medication management. My loved one seems to really enjoy the food. There are two choices or sandwiches, hot dogs, or more that is available anytime that the residents can choose from. Laundry, housekeeping, the room, utilities including basic cable, activities, swimming pool access and changing of the linens is included in the monthly rate. They have a nurse available 7 days a week in case the residents needs something. The hours are typical business hours that is also included.

The staff here are wonderful. I love the staff. They're great people, and they do a great job. I think the issues we're having are really related to Covid and being short-staffed. Our loved one is not getting particularly good meals due to shortages, and I really don't blame them for that.

St. Andrews is the perfect place for Mother's rehabilitation after her hip surgery. The community services make it easy for her to recover while experiencing the environment of an active adult lifestyle. The "age in place" offerings are a bonus and makes it easier for mom to decide that transitioning from her home is an appropriate next step.

Very comforting to know people care that I get the right for for me

This facility was fairly okay. One problem I did find, however, was the fact that meals are not included in your stay. You are required to hire a chef. This was a let down because I needed amenities like this included in my stay.

They have a rehab center as well as long term nursing care. It is really nice. A girlfriend of mine was in there for rehab a couple of times. The aesthetics of the building and professionalism of the staff are outstanding. They'll stop and talk to anyone, and take time to help you. The meal preparation and cleanliness were also good. The elevator was working and convenient, so it was easy for residents to use.
