Monticello West

It was excellent ! The ratio of caregivers to patients is high. The people that work there have stayed a long time. Nurse on duty 24 hours a day. Memory care for several levels. Location is good ! Staff is Very Helpful!

My mom is comfortable and relatively happy. My mother's room and general areas are clean. The bathroom my shares with her suite mate can be cleaner. It smells like urine and poop when visit. I think it's due to the suite mate though. The staff is very friendly and seems to care about the residents. I believe my mom is receiving the care she needs. Would like to have contact with the medical care to see what they are doing for my and how my mom is doing. I like the memory care activities they have daily with the residents. They offer good activities that help stimulate patients mind and memory. I really like the activities and have participated in them when I visit my mom. The instructor is great. Her interaction with residents is good. For the money we pay I would expect the meals be more than a sandwich and chips sometime. I expect sit down meals with protein and vegetables. My mother doesn't complain about the meals too much, so I won't complain. Overall family seems pleased with Monticello West for their loved one. The staff is friendly, the activities involve all residents while stimulating their minds and memory. Overall, the family is pleased with facility and the value that it's costing them. One minor issue would be the food. Family would like to see sit meals where there is protein and vegetables, a balance meal.

The friendliness of the staff members is a 5 plus! When it comes to the meals and dining service we love the variety and so does our Grandma! Variety of food choices, kind staff, responsive staff, and nice people is what we like the most about this community!

So many of the staff are so helpful and friendly! Always asking if they can help me carry packages, boxes, etc. I have been very impressed how the staff tries to make everyone feel welcome and the willingness to go beyond and above. Any concerns have been immediately addressed. I feel the management team and other staff members truly care about the residents and the concerns the family members might encounter. After looking at various assisted living options, Monticello West was definitely the best choice. Pat M.

I just think the staff truly care about every person here. All of the staff know all of the residents by name and their likes and dislikes. From the very first day my loved one walked in, they have welcomed him with open arms. I would highly recommend Monticello West to others.

I toured this facility and it was ok. It's older. They've revamped it, but the floor plan is still older style and not open and inclusive like most newer facilities.

My loved one, really likes the food. The staff is awesome to work with, as far as managing my loved one. Everyone is super friendly, and takes time to get to know families that visit. Overall, It has it been a super friendly experience.

I toured Monticello West and it was very nice. The community was older and darker. For me, it's all about natural lighting and how bright and pretty it looks, as it makes them feel at home. Monticello was a little too dark for me and it had a weird porch with the rooms that felt a little institutional-like. It had concrete wall that came up about 5 feet. I chose another community because of it's aesthetic.

I was the first of our family to tour Monticello West and from the first impression with [name removed] and then [name removed], I knew this must be a place where true care was given to the residents! Friendliness starts there at the receptionist desk with a warm greeting. When our mom moved in, each staff member made her feel welcomed! There is a clear kind, helpful and caring energy emanating from them all! There was no question in any of our family members minds, we had discovered a GREAT new home for our 95 year old mother! I only have one suggestion in that I do hope they upgrade the meals. There is room for improvement there but I feel sure something will be done about it. With that exception, all is FIVE star rating ! We could not be happier!!!

One of the hardest things in the world is to be the new person walking in to join a large group of people. Our family moved a lot while I was growing up, so I know. Before I moved to Monticello West, I lived at another Dallas senior facility. People were nice there, but the first day in the dining room made me anxious. Eventually I made good friends, but I’m kind of shy, so it took some time. I moved into Monticello about three months ago, but in a few weeks it felt like home. People are basically the same everywhere, but Monticello residents are particularly friendly and welcoming. Also, the staff are warm and caring. They seem to like their jobs and us. That was not true at my prior facility. Nothing in this world is perfect, but Monticello checks off the most important boxes for me, and I highly recommend living here.

Monticello West feels like a Godsend! The standout feature is the 'vibe' of the place. The staff, to a person, is positive, upbeat, and genuinely kind. There is a consistent hardworking effort that has the facility feel clean and fresh=healthy. I was impressed when my sister was calling with wonderful reports of staff and care given and when I flew out to see for myself I was extremely happy and impressed. The personal attention not only to my mom but to our family is extraordinary. Part of my life is working in end of life and I have done volunteer work in a variety of communities for our elders; Monticello West really stands out far above any I have experienced. Thank you with all of my heart to the extraordinary staff!

Monticello West has very helpful caregivers & staff. They have accommodating staff, friendly residents, and a convenient location. The food is not always good for some reason. I'm not sure if it's because the food ordered doesn't come in when planned, due to supply chain issues. But there are many times my loved one doesn't eat the food provided because it's a strange combination of ingredients, or it just doesn't taste good. So, she's lost quite a bit of weight since being there; but her caregivers have been more than helpful. Sometimes they are overwhelmed and can be slow to respond, but I think that's just the world we're in right now - you've got to wait sometimes. Communication between the community and our family is pretty good. I can get someone on the phone pretty quickly, or alternatively, I can send an email and get a quick response as well. I wanted a safe place for her to stay, that also offers shuttle service to transport her to appointments; and that's what they provide. Overall I would recommend Monticello West to others.

I have been at Monticello for 4 months, it has been a very positive one. Staff is very caring, professional & always ready to help. I have been very very impressed by them. Meals are great, activities are numerous and fun and there is a diversity of ages of residents to get to know.

The community was great to work with. They were a little more than we wanted to spend each month.

This community was nice, however it just seemed to be over elegant it was just not really my loved ones style.

Each time I enter MW I am greeted warmly by team members whether they be the concierge, the Executive Director, food service personnel, housecleaning, care givers, nursing care staff, business office staff, maintenance staff. This helps to confirm that our loved one is in the right place. It feels like a family. I cannot say enough about the wonderful staff on the Memory Care floor. They are kind, compassionate, and extremely patient. The Memory Care Director leads by example and is available to residents and to their families.

We chose Monticello West because of the close proximity to where I live as well as the lady who walked us through was very knowledgeable. Everything she shared sounded like what we needed, especially the value for the money. What I really like is that the caregivers are assigned to the residents, so they don't have new people coming in to care for them everyday. They just have 4 people they work with throughout the week on a rotated schedule. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

I moved my mother into Monticello West one year ago. Despite all things COVID, it has been an incredible experience for my mother. The social activities keep her engaged - she even dances to the music! We will be moving out of state and I have tried to find her a new home. It is hard to replicate what Monticello offers. They are such a caring community. The new Executive Director, [name removed]is exceptional, keeping them safe and making it feel like home for all.

It is a very nice place to live. The only real problem I've had is the nurses don't respond to my call as quick as they could, but they're working on that. They might not have enough help. But I like just about everything else about living here.
