Response from Meadowbrook Memory Care
December 30, 2023Thank you, Kelly, for your wonderful review of Meadowbrook!
We are pleased with Meadowbrook for the most part. The food is certainly not gourmet, but it's adequate. The activities are below par, I think, but we were spoiled by the great activities lady at the previous facility. The staff and caretakers are wonderful and caring.

We chose Meadowbrook because when I took the tour and saw them, all the residents were out and able to walk around freely. It was also very homey rather than institutional. I found particular members of the staff very compassionate and sensitive and it really impressed me. Overall I was pleased with our experience here.

We chose Meadowbrook Memory Care because she was in rehab and was needing a 2 person assist and this facility offers that as well as memory care. The room sizes here are good but they aren't in their room a lot so they do not need a lot of space. The staff members here are all friendly especially the administrative staff. I would absolutely recommend to others looking.

It is a much better community than we have been before. This is an all memory care community and that is a big benefit for my loved one. The communication between the staff and family has improved as the stay has gone on.

The community is clean and beautiful and There was a management change in mid-February and we hope things will get better. The food is not very good and it really needs to improve. They have run out of essential food items. The activities are not what they promised. They promised a laundry service and we had issues with clothing disappearing and not being laundered correctly so we are having to do it ourselves. I would not recommend this community to others.

We chose Meadowbrook Memory care mostly because of the location and it was by far the best out of the ones that we visited. The staff members here were excellent. Overall, we had a short but good experience here and would recommend.

Great first impression. Then things seemed to go downhill... feel once they got you roped in to a signed contract, they were done. When call to inquire of Resident, sounds like a rehearsed speech, always "she is doing great" but not many details to let me know why/how this is so even when ask for specific details. When all in shutdown due to Corona, those who care and call need details and assurance about our loved ones even more so. Was urged to use facility's prescription company so did that to make Rx delivery easy for all. Then upon receiving Humana statements noticed the Rx prescriptions are almost twice as expensive. Went back to old Pharmacy and deliver Rx personally to facility. Tried calling their Pharmacy to inquire why so much more expensive, but recorded message stated number had been disconnected. How does this make a person feel confident In their operations? Maybe a couple of weeks ago when delivering supplies which I just happened to inquire about during Corona lock down since no one bothers to let me know when Resident is running low on personal supplies, I noticed two ladies by the front desk. They had no gloves, no masks, yet Notice posted on front door stated Corona guidelines plainly. When I asked why they were not in compliance, I was told they were just there to fill out applications. Even more reason to practice Corona Safety Practices... had they been out of the country, exposed to anyone with Corona, experienced any fever? Who knows? Not in compliance with their own posted guidelines and should have simply handed applications to them outside the front door entrance and mail back to Facility or return in person by calling ahead for someone to pick up at the front entrance for the protection of the elderly residents. Rules do not seem to matter??? If so, how does this example protect the residents??? Kicker is Resident had two pieces of her furniture disappear from her apartment the first or second month of residency and of course, not a soul cares or tried to locate/investigate. Each room needs a camera if employees or other residents enter a person's room and walk off with their furniture! I want furniture returned and stop stealing from residents. Maybe is time to fire everyone again like they had to do about 3 years ago and get whole new crew again? No excuse for theft. Overall comments and general feelings re: this facility... Just so-so. Except for one front desk employee and the Activity Director, not very confident in the other employees. So sorry to have to write a review of this nature instead of what would like to have written if the company were on top of things more carefully. It is not easy to work in a retirement home for dementia residents, but I expect better. Maybe I just thought people cared more for those who cannot help themselves as they used to in their younger days...

We look forward to providing loving care and support to you and your husband. If we can serve you in any way, we would be grateful if you would call Margaret, our Executive Director.
Love the facility and how quite it is. The more family orientated they are. I really love the all-inclusive billing. No surprises on rate changes with care level. Called back afterward with a few questions, answered immediately.

The moment I entered Meadowbrook for a tour I felt a sweet spirit about this place. The staff and management seem to have a mission more than a job. They make my husband feel special every time I leave him there for day stays and respite. If/when we need full time care, this will be out first choice. Thank you Meadowbrook for helping us through a difficult time.

August 30, 2018Wanda, thank you for choosing Meadowbrook Memory Care Community for your husband’s respite/day care stays. I appreciate that you shared your experiences and if we can serve you in any way, we would be grateful if you would call Margaret, our Executive Director.
We toured this community and it was nice and clean. The staff was helpful and answered all of our questions. It was a really big place and I feel like dad would've gotten lost in here. I saw no nurses in there. The rooms were nice. But it was overwhelming for me. Just wasn't a good fit for my dad.

December 8, 2017Thank you for writing a review and touring Meadowbrook Memory Care Community. We will send your compliments to our teams and pleased that our staff was helpful and answered all of your questions. I am sorry you missed our nurses, but hope you were able to meet the Director of Resident Services, our head nurse. I hope you find the perfect place for your dad and if we can serve you in any way, we would be grateful if you would call Margaret, our Executive Director.
Everything is going good here so far. My Dad has been very calm and not as anxious as he was at a previous place and that’s been a big difference. The staff is amazing here and we’re very happy with them. They offer many levels of care so he doesn’t have to move if he needs additional help. They’ll take the residents on scenic drives and to different restaurants. The other residents that are there (that are still able to understand what’s going on) seem to be happy. The room that he has is a semi private room, but he doesn’t have a roommate right now because their occupancy is pretty low. The room is very nice though and it came furnished. Because there’s a free bed in his room, we can come and visit him and stay the night if we want to which is nice. Housekeeping comes by to clean every other day and they help bathe him twice a week. Overall, it’s been very nice and we’ve been very happy with the care that he’s receiving.

December 8, 2017Thank you for reviewing Meadowbrook Memory Care Community and providing a superb title of Great Care and Great Staff! We love to hear that your dad is calm and less anxious. I will pass along your amazing compliments to our teams and hope that he is enjoying the scenic drives. If we can serve you in any way, we would be grateful if you would call Margaret, our Executive Director.
My loved one is here and so far, everything is going pretty good. There are things that I’d like to change. The staff is easy to communicate with and seem knowledgeable about the type of care that my loved one needs. I haven’t tried the food but I sit with my loved one while they eat and it seems well balanced and nutritious. The facility itself is pretty clean and they provide a lot of activities; there’s always something going on. The other residents are pretty friendly and outgoing and all of the caregivers are pretty good. The best thing to do is just to come here, sit around and look around for a while so you can see if you’ll like it or not. You can really feel the interaction. It’s a hard job to do, they’re going to make mistakes and they’re not always going to do it the way I would but they’ve been good. I would recommend them to others.

We had to place my husband here and the staff id very good. I've seen a transformation in my husband since he got here. He is more engaged, more alert just more interested in things. He is eating well it smells good and looks good. He gets 3 meals a day and then snacks if he wants them. The staff love his attitude and loves his accent. There is a very large secured courtyard area. I would recommend this community.

I had to move my mom from another state and we found this community for her close to my house so it is convenient. I love the place but there is always room for improvement at any place like this. The caregivers are friendly and care but they do need some more training. The staff has a high turnover and hoping that will improve also. They need to do more rounds to check on my mom. The head nurse is absolutely wonderful. The place stays clean but in my moms room it could be better. The food always smells so good and looks good the kitchen lady works very hard at serving everybody. This has a family unit feel and that is one of the reasons I chose this and the second reason, [removed] the marketing person is very kind and helpful. I would recommend them to my friends and family.

The was all nice and I would keep them in mind if anything changes. I was just feeling the Memory Area was more confined and away from everyone. Some of the residents were just sitting around and I didn't see much involvement or activities. The person I toured with was knowledgeable and nice.
