The place is exceptionally clean and attractive. Everyone is very friendly and they go out of their way to make a newcomer feel welcome. The quality of care has been excellent, they have met all of my mom's special needs. The staff is competent, caring and friendly. The food is excellent. There are lots of fresh vegetables and fruits. The meals are well prepared, nutritious and delicious. My mom loves them. My mom has not really taken part in many of the activities (her choice), but she has enjoyed the musical entertainment and the Bingo. The care provided here is not inexpensive, but it is a great value for the money. I would like to say that my mom's stay here has been temporary; she will be returning home next week. Prior to finding this facility, I was truly at my wits end. But with some help, I was able to find the perfect match for my mom's needs. The management and staff at Holiday Maplewood Place are all extremely professional and caring but also very friendly, considerate and kind. They make it a point to get to know the residents and their family at move in or even sooner. They make all feel welcomed and special from management to the front desk, dining room, housekeeping, aides and maintenance. The residents are also very friendly and kind. They welcome new residents and are there for assistance and support. What helped my mother was the "escort host" program where a resident escorts new residents to/from meals for 2 weeks. That experience really expedited her transition and feeling comfortable and like she was at "home." I would highly recommend the facility. Take a tour, meet the staff and see the facility and it will sell itself.

What our family likes the most about the Holiday Maplewood Place is the value for cost and the caring atmosphere. We would recommend this community to other families who are looking for a place for their loved ones

The staff were very friendly and welcoming at Holiday Maplewood Place. I will say that there was not a good formal move-in orientation and we were randomly asking for things that would have been helpful to have information on up front. The food is not as good as it sounded before we moved in. I think they need more healthy options and more fruit offered. The laundry machines are quite outdated. They do have a few new machines, but most are old. Maintenance is very helpful and responsive. The facility is lovely and updated and bright and cheery.

The way in which the operations specialist speaks to and about workers and previous workers is completely and utterly despicable. If you want a positive environment for your loved ones, he needs to be out of office, if you don’t enjoy your job or the people you surround yourself with at your job then don’t do the job. The mannerisms are better in a kindergarten classroom. As a family member of somebody who spent years in the building, I have never seen such disrespect until I came across this man.

Response from Holiday Maplewood Place
September 1, 2023Sarah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We want all of our residents, employees, and guests to be treated with respect at all times. I’ve shared your review with the Regional Vice President and he would be happy to speak with you directly about the concerns you’ve raised. If you email me at CustomerService@AtriaSeniorLiving.com I’ll put you in touch.
Staffing ratios are unsafe. New management fired the great staff they had and those that weren’t fired, left. They have zero activities, unless you call watching exercise tapes or Catholic Mass on tv an activity. Food is horrible and even worse since they fired the kitchen manager. Families are pulling their loved ones out of this place at an alarming rate. Now they are begging their residents for referrals. Instead of paying attention to patient care, they remodeled the place to look nice but that’s the only positive thing about this place. This used to be a great place but since Holiday took it over, it has gone downhill fast! They increased their rents drastically but the food quality has gone down and they do not have any staffing. If you tour this place, ask what their census is now vs a year ago and take a look around, do you see any engaging activities, any staff around anywhere? Run from this place!

Generally the staff is caring. The people are friendly. My loved one seems happy there. Before moving in, she was alone and immobile. And now she's walking on her own up to the second floor where her apartment is. From that perspective, it has been a positive experience for her. She's engaged in a lot of activities and seems happy. The main issue is the food is terrible. They changed food providers, and the quality has gone down tremendously - to the point that it's inedible. And despite everyone complaining about it, nothing is being done.

Our loved one is not overall thrilled about the meals we aren't sure if its the quality but our loved one says the food just does not taste good. They do seem to be very satisfied with the activities they have going on. Based on our experience so far we would recommend the Holiday Maplewood Place to other families.

Overall, my family is pretty satisfied with our decision. They've been doing construction for the past 3 months and I know the upgrades will make it even better, but it's just a little hectic right now. Housekeeping is twice a week and they do a good job. The food is good quality, my wife is very happy with it. The staff has been there for a period of time and they're mostly happy there. I think that shows in the care that they give to the residents. I've recommended them to family and friends and will continue to do so.

Atria Maplewood Place is a beautiful facility. My mother loves it there. She struggled at first, like anybody moving into a new residence. But the people and the care that she's gotten have helped her to get over that. And she is really enjoying the dining room and the meals.

On the positive note, my sister has made many friends and is doing activities with people which is exactly what we were wanting to happen. She is frustrated on the administration in some areas. She feels like some rules that come down from the big corporation should not be in place and there is no apparent reason for them. I think the experience has achieved what we wanted and it is fulfilling what we needed.

There was a lot of confusion with the move-in process, I think they really need to improve that process. I would recommend this community to others

We chose Atria Maplewood Place because it was close to where his house is so he is familiar with the area and he would be more comfortable there. The apartment sizes are on the smaller side, he has a studio and we are looking to maybe upgrade. They do always have activities going on for the residents. The staff members here are all very nice. I would recommend to others looking.

It's very nice. Other people who have come in with me to visit can't believe how nice and clean it is. Atria Maplewood Place has been very, very careful about Covid and the necessary restrictions. Now those restrictions are loosening up, which is good. They're very friendly, and everybody seems to be very nice. They also offer plenty of activities.

Atria Maplewood is beautiful, we are happy with it, and all in all it generally is a good place. There are not to many activities going on at the moment and some of the staff members are very nice, and others not so much. We do think the value for cost is pretty high.

We chose Atria Maplewood Place because we had an emergency situation and they had availability when we needed it. I am so grateful because it worked out great. There are a lot of really fantastic staff members here. The dining room upstairs is beautiful, its like a 5 star restaurant. They also have an inside courtyard, everyone here seems to be pretty happy. I would recommend to others.

My grandmother's experience at Atria Maplewood Place has been very rewarding and pleasant. This is the happiest I have seen her since my grandfather passed away. She has made some friends that could last the rest of her or their lifetime. She is happy living her independent life in the privacy of her own apartment when she prefers. The positive changes that I have witnessed are an increase in her weight due to the constant and variety of nourishment that they provide, a positive attitude, her aches and pains have diminished dramatically due to improved eating habits and patterns including weight gain which has also made her stronger and independent (not using her cane as much). This is a place with an amazing staff from the wait staff all the way to the top administrators located in Malden MA. I am happy, we as a family decided that Maplewood Place is the best fit for my active 84 year old grandmother, especially after Covid-19 hit. Although it was difficult to physically be with her during quarantine. The reception staff jumped through loops and got very creative with keeping the families up to date and arranging some private visits once they were able to. During such a frustrating time in everyone’s life Maplewood Place really made the process seamless of which kept all of us at ease. Thank you to all of the staff for being patient and eager to please and especially for taking care of our families! I would highly recommend it.

We recently had a family friend move in to Maplewood Place and were very skeptical due to the crazy year everyone has been having with the pandemic. Much to our surprise our friend is doing extremely well. She loves living there and has made a bunch of new friends. She loves that she doesn't have to worry about cleaning anymore or cooking. She said it like living at a hotel, they do everything for you. We are so happy that she chose Maplewood place.

My Grandmother lives at Maplewood and the community is beautiful. I am so happy that my parents decided to move her there. I was worried during Covid that she would get ill but the staff did such a great job keeping everyone safe . They had everything they needed during the pandemic and tested all their staff regularly.
