My loved one was only here for 8 days, but these were my findings! I would like to add that everybody there from the nurses to the CNAs to the admin staff to the maintenance staff and of course Shannon we were absolutely accommodating and sympathetic and professional and extremely kind. My mom was at Grace Point for 5 days and did nothing but decline. By the 5th day I found her unresponsive and no one could tell me the last time anyone spoke to her. I left her at 8:00pm Thursday night to find her Friday morning at 8:00 am in the same position and non responsive. She then was taken to the hospital and did not return to Grace Point. We took her home the following Tuesday on hospice care. I would not recommend this facility. We thought we were doing a great thing for our mother but soon found out it was not what we were sold when visiting the facility. If you cannot visit your loved ones day and night please don’t bring them here. I would have to show up every morning and get my mom up and dressed for breakfast and return after work to get her to dinner and then to bed. She was taken care of better at home. We had a terrible experience.

Response from Grace Point Place Memory Care
January 17, 2024I appreciate your thoughtful review and am glad to hear your positive experience with our staff during your mother's stay. I understand the challenge of the location being an hour away from your home, limiting your ability to be with your mother daily. Despite this drawback, it's reassuring to know that the team made your mother's time here as positive as possible. Thank you for sharing your feedback.
I would highly recommend this facility to others. [Name removed] has been instrumental in my decision making, preparation for moving, and all other issues as they arise. My sister and her husband have been clean, well fed, attended to, and kept safe from falls or any potential injuries. There's open two-way communication, quality staff, and a clean no odor environment. I would suggest a booklet/guide with all information: mail, furniture suggestions, policies etc.

Grace Point Place is a nice place. It's clean, and the staff is friendly, but communication is lacking. I've had to follow up a few times on very simple things.

February 23, 2023Thank you for your review and honest feedback. I am sorry to hear about the lack of communication. I will follow up with the team to rectify. In the meantime, please reach out to our Executive Director with your concerns and he can ensure that you are taken care of.
This was nice, but to crowded. Their patient to staff ratio was way too high for residents with real dementia problems. That was my turn off.
Of course there’s a few things to crab about but having worked in this field I know most places have far worse issues. The negative; revolving door with management, past billing has been a mess, and her towels get lost. My mom complains about the food, but aren’t most seniors overly fixated on food? And extra picky? We bring her a hot meal weekly, goodies & take her out to lunch sometimes. However, when it comes to her safety & care, I have NO complaints! I have faith in new Environmental Services Director ([name removed]) Is on the Ball! Along with new Director ([name removed]). Nursing staff is really stepping up on communication lately as well! I’m confident she’s placed in the best facility around and safer than being at home.

I was so nervous to move mom into a community. I am glad I took the leap because she is so happy at Grace Point. She is eating well again and loves the food. She is constantly busy doing all kinds of activities. She feels like she has a daily job to do when she helps set the tables or clean up. Thank you Grace Point!

This place is not good. The staff is rude. The management is ineffective. The food is disgusting. The care is absolutely terrible. Please, keep shopping around. There are better places out there.

Response from Grace Point Place Memory Care
December 15, 2022Kurt, I am so sorry to hear that you had such a negative experience at our community. We take all feedback very seriously and we will share your review with the team and make adjustments as needed.
My cousin was a resident at this godforsaken facility. I attended a care plan meeting on her behalf with the Executive Director, Director of Nursing and Regional Nurse. One of our main concerns was engagement, safety and supervision of residents. Clearly Grace Point did nothing to fix the problem as my cousin is now in a hospital being moved via hoyer lift and totally unable to walk. This place is bad, bad, bad news. They lie and cover things up. They don’t do anything right including giving residents the medicine they are prescribed. You have to stay on top of them all day long or your loved one will truly suffer. One nurse even read confidential information from another residents chart to my cousin’s daughter! Please, find a better place for your loved one.

At times the staff can be helpful. At other times, they can be unhelpful. The facility itself is fine. The activities could be better.

Our family is based about 30 minutes away, but for the price point and cleanliness, I think it's the best place. I did tons of research had countless Zoom calls and visits to other places that were substandard. Grace Point Place is a newer build - the facility is about 5 years old. The staff is great. My only wish is that they would do field trips or attend events where the residents can get out side more. But other than that, it's great. The care they're providing is top notch. They've definitely been doing their due diligence keeping me informed. And when I visit, they're very warm and helpful with any questions I might have.

I have toured this community three times. I learn a little more each time I visit. They are very knowledgeable and seem to be the experts in memory care. I have also attended one of their family support groups. It's great to learn more about my mom's memory care needs and to know that I am not the only one going through this. We plan on moving mom in this summer.

A Place for Mom has scored Grace Point Place Memory Care 9.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
