Brookdale Wayne AL/MC

My mom was living with me, I am her only surviving child. Although mom is still quite self-sufficient, she was bored at home as I am at work all day. She can be a little forgetful at times too. We explored this community living option once before but she wasn’t ready, but now she finally was. Mom moved to Brookdale 3 months ago now, and the first 90 days, I’m told are the hardest and they have been incredible. Mom is happy, mom is socializing, making friends, and going to their daily programs. I’ve seen a positive change in my mother in the past few months. I wish she would’ve made the decision to come sooner so she could have benefited sooner, but at least now she has the life and interaction she deserves to feel purposeful and a part of! Separate from that, I have to tell you, my mom and I have yet to meet someone we didn’t like. The management and staff are genuine and loving.

I visited 5 communities in the area for my mom before deciding on Brookdale Wayne. I chose Wayne because there is a true sense of warmth and compassion with every person I met. My mom wasn’t local, this was a big move and had a lot of moving parts but the Executive Director made me feel incredibly comfortable. She took the time to explain things, she was taking my calls at all hours, and helped make my mom’s transition flawless. The other places I visited were nice. Some newer, some much older, but I needed to feel safe knowing my mom was in the best hands and she is the only one that made me feel that way. My mom has been at Brookdale for a short while now, and she is flourishing. She finally has friends and is socializing, but best of all, she has the care she needs and I don’t have to worry. The nursing director is very responsive and the ladies helping with care are lovely. I’d strongly recommend considering this community for your loved one. We are both (mom and I) very happy.

We toured Brookdale Wayne AL/MC when searching for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. The facility was very nice. The staff was also very nice. It just wasn't the right fit for my loved one. We decided to continue on with our search.

Our family had an in person tour with Brookdale Wayne and based on the tour experience and what we saw of the community we thought it was excellent!

We had a horrible experience. The staff was rude and nasty. Upper management did not help but they had a lot of agency employees who no one could understand. Especially the elderly. I thought it was the answer to everything!! But they were just liars and don't care about the residents.

The staff at Brookdale Wayne is wonderful, caring, and very compassionate. They are also very accommodating.

My mother was there such a short time, but for the short time she was there, she was well taken care of. We picked this community, because it was within 15 minutes of our family. Was very welcoming and each room was very nice. They accommodated my mother's needs. Definitely an open door policy.

We had a very positive tour experience with Brookdale Wayne I actually would have preferred my loved one to go here because it was much closer, but it was up to her and we are just happy she agreed to go somewhere.

We had concerns about placing my mom but she needed to be somewhere safe. We placed her in Brookdale Wayne. And we are so pleased. She is never alone she enjoys the activities There care for her with kindness and compassion. She has her meals in the dining room and she is served as if at a restaurant She sometimes needs nursing intervention and they are on it right away I am relieved that she always gets her medication on time. Her room is always clean. The administrative staff are always available and answers any questions. So if you are in need of placement for your loved one I highly recommend Brookdale Wayne

My grandmother has been at Brookdale for 6 months and is extremely happy. The staff is very friendly and the place is always clean. I couldn't think of a better place. My grandmother enjoys all the social activities they have.

My mom moved my grandma into Brookdale Wayne in April 2022. This was a hard decision to make being she was living well mostly on her own in an apartment for some time, but there wasn’t anything to stimulate her mentally or physically. We did have an aide coming in but in home care is expensive and still didn’t solve the isolation and socialization issue. It was hard to downsize at first but we all, including my grandma, quickly realized she has everything she needed. She has plenty of room for her things, she has amazing activities that keep her busy day to day, she now has friends and a social life again. With her care, staff takes such great care of her, they communicate with us and give us updates. When I visit my grandma now, she is happier, more active, she’s getting more care than she was getting at home. She is healthier and more closely followed because nursing and the doctor. We are very satisfied with our decision and would recommend to anyone looking for their family.

It’s hard to pick a place for your parent you want the best for them, and we feel we found just that. What makes this better than the others, amongst other things, is the staff. The quality of care is excellent but the major driving factor is they all truly care. I looked at several places before deciding on Brookdale. Yes, there were new places, yes price matters, and some options were different, but what sold me on Brookdale was the warmth and compassion of the staff. [name removed]at the desk is always smiling and pleasant. The food is excellent. [name removed]the nurse has always been responsive and prompt with all my questions and needs. [name removed]is always there when I need her. I can’t say enough about [name removed]who runs amazing things for her to do. But the staff, [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], they go above and beyond for my mom. I could not ask for more from them. Mom needed help, mom needed a safe place, we got that and much more at Brookdale!

This facility is good and very welcoming. They do a good job decorating for the seasons and celebrating holidays. It's been a very good experience for mom so far. My husband and I are relieved to have mom in such a safe place. The staff is really nice. Mom has a call button that she wears and they respond well when she has needs. They have PT there for her everyday, which is great. Sometimes the food is a little cold, but otherwise no issues there. I would recommend them to friends and family.

Our experience at Brookdale Wayne has been great. The interaction with every staff has been a positive one. The Director has always been available and responsive to our needs. Nursing team has prompt action to requests. I feel that my mom has everything she could possibly need and it is overall quite affordable, especially when compared to some other places we looked at. I will say, it was not easy to pick a place but I feel we made the right decision by far.

I can’t share enough positive things about Brookdale Wayne. Their staff is responsive to anything we ever need. The care is the reason we decided on a place for mom, and the care at Brookdale Wayne is truly excellent. When looking for a place for my mom, I wanted a place she would feel comfortable and at home. From the sales experience, through day mom arrived, and everything since, has been a great experience. Sure there are some bumps in the road that were part of adjusting and learning but one thing I can say for sure; mom at home was unsafe. Mom at home with help was not enough help, I can sleep better at night knowing there are staff there to help 24/7, and I have some more balance in my life! I would highly suggest Brookdale Wayne for your family.

My mother has been at Brookdale for several months and has adjusted well. They provide several daily activities and outings. The staff is very attentive to her needs and always encourage residents to participate in activities. She loves the food and has made several new friends. [name removed] the Executive Director is great! I would definitely recommend this facility.

If you really dislike your parent then this is a good place. Otherwise look elsewhere. I agree with the other negative reviews listed.

Brookdale Wayne has been a tremendous blessing to us. We have been very fortunate to have both of our parents in their care for 3+ years. All the employees from the nurses and aids, to the receptionists, to the chefs and waitresses have treated my parents like family, showing genuine care and concern and giving us peace of mind about their well-being. Our dad had some complicated heart issues and the level of continuous support he received throughout his time at Brookdale was always appreciated, by him and by us. After our dad passed, the outpouring of support for our mom was heartwarming. Dad always said he loved living at Brookdale; he knew it was the best place for them at that time in their lives. Since dad’s passing mom often comments how happy she is at Brookdale, often saying how nice everyone is. We are so thankful to the team who makes that happen every day!

my mom is 91 years old and moved into brookdale in [date removed] she was reluctant coming to a assisted living facility. Much to her surprise she has made many friends and the staff has gone above and beyond to make her feel like family [name removed] and her staff are top notch. my mom always has such nice things to say about the program director [name removed]. She absolutely has made my mom happy and always looks forward to the activities that she plans. always one of the bright spots in my moms week if you are looking for an assisted living facility for yourself or a loved one do your self a huge favor and go for a tour/ visit

At first and understandably my mother in her 90s was reluctant to move into assisted living. Now she is thriving. She is treated with love and respect.. which is so important.. I love the staff here they respond so quickly. The place pretty , clean and there is always something to do. It was the perfect place for mom.
