Brookdale The Heights offers families and residents the right support at the right time. Here, the trained team members support residents' individual journeys by providing tailored care services, healthy meals, housekeeping, and engaging activities along the way. Residents in the early or mid-to-late stages of dementia can find support through exclusive programming and consistent care assignments. Additionally, a variety of engagement areas have been sprinkled throughout the community to provide opportunities for gardening, kitchen work, handyman help, and other meaningful and familiar tasks. Residents’ needs and safety are monitored day and night, and the caregivers are prepared to assist with medication management, bathing, grooming, and other activities of daily living. Best of all, the staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. An emergency alert system is also used to provide peace of mind.
Thanks to lively activities and amenities, each day can be filled with endless fun. Join the pizza club or attend game nights, brain fitness classes, bowling, and more. The virtual tour of Brookdale was very pretty, but first impression was more stiff and formal with a very strong "sales" approach where [name removed] was bright and welcoming and made me feel like they wanted to help me. For someone able to spend more and wanting a more formal atmosphere it would be great, but my uncle is a more casual kind of guy. It was also considerably more expensive- out of my uncle's price range. I could give it a 5 but hesitate just because it was a little to sales oriented instead of making me feel it could be my uncle's new home. The person did a nice job of showing me around.
My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale The Heights for several months and it was not a good fit for him. Suggestions for improvement: better communication and clear lines of the chain of command would help. I would not recommend this facility to others.

Response from Brookdale The Heights
November 7, 2023Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. Your feedback will be shared with management.
It wasn't 100% memory care. My dad did not like being confined to a small area when he knew that others could move about freely. It was lovely people there.
My sister has numerous and unique debilitations. The management and caregiving staff at Brookdale Heights have been very sensitive to her needs. My sister feels safe and well cared for. I feel so grateful that the staff is very open to communicating with me and tweaking their care plan as they get to know her to provide the best care possible.

I rarely do reviews, but I think this place, Brookdale, The Heights deserves my enthusiastic comments. First, to me, is one of the most important...I felt warmly received in a clean and healthy environment. The staff seemed to be very attentive, caring, and warm with the residents. And, they've got chickens! Seems like a unremarkable thing, but to me it shows the staff's attention to the interest and hobbies of the residents. I strongly felt like (name removed), I think she's the manager, would always be very responsive to my needs. I'm planning on move in there.

I've visited a friend at this facility. It's lovely, clean, and has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The layout is nice and spacious and the residents I encountered seemed truly at home. I also love that they have pets and even raise chickens at a nice outdoor coop for the residents to enjoy.

Not going to lie, I was skeptical. When looking for a nursing home, all places preach of their benefits, but you have to pick someplace. Brookdale has grown in our estimation. It's tough to let go of responsibilities you've assumed caring for your elderly parent. Whether it's Vaccination access, meds administration, Medicare recs, Brookdale the Heights has demonstrated they have the resident's and their family's interest at heart. What is most important however is how much staff truly cares for residents. My Mom was hospitalized and returned and has been moved to the memory care unit as she's in hospice care now. But almost all staff at her old building have come by to say hello, one member asking me if I wanted pictures he has of her (she's a regular at bingo now). That kind of affection is priceless. The management has been flexible and worked with us as we managed the transition from assisted to hospice. It's been a great support. I wish I could give 6 stars for staff friendliness.

The place has cooks that cook good food. The grounds are lovely as well with lots of green space. The activity director, (name removed) does a great job! I appreciate how they keep the place clean as well.

Community is clean, well kept, friendly/caring staff and have events to keep residents engaged. They handled the ongoing pandemic so professionally and made it top priority to keep residents & staff safe.
The value for the cost at this community is very good. They have activities like a cowboy day, they also have puzzle activities and more for the residents to do to stay occupied and busy in the community. The staff try very hard, I feel like at times they may have been stretched thin but they all try really hard in the community with the residents.

My brother needed a place to recover from several medical issues and in a short time we found Brookdale Heights and their team who guided us through the set up process, loaned furniture and made him feel right at home. We highly recommend Brookdale Heights for the caring staff, lovely setting and good meals.

The caring nature of the staff. Everybody goes above and beyond and everyone is there to help. The food is nutritional and tastes good. I feel if I do have concerns they’re addressed in a timely manner. I truly don’t think my mom could be at any other place; this is the 4th place my mom has lived in and by far the best. This is about as close to a family as a community can get.

If you have the financial resources to place your loved one here, this would be my first choice. The community was able to guide me through the process and give me resources to make the right decisions for my loved one. The staff were very proactive to respond to any situation when I had questions or concerns about.

Mom tells everyone that this is the best place for her to be…close enough to her kids but not living with them. Regardless of her “advanced” age, she wants to maintain her independence. She says the staff is great, the food is good and she loves her apartment. Knowing she is happy and safe (and close by) makes Brookdale a great choice for our family.
