I am very happy here. The transportation is good. The workers are very nice. The dining room needs improvement with servers and food.

My loved one was a resident at Brookdale Quincy Bay. Overall, the experience at this facility was good. The Executive Director is great and the staff is very helpful. However, the move in process was not good. There was not enough move in help.

I've been very happy with it overall. The staff are very friendly and try to get my father to go to activities in the building. They decorate nicely for holidays, and the general décor is nice. My father has a studio apartment that is spacious for a studio. Everything in the building is in good condition. The only problem we've had is that he is currently he's getting lost and wandering, and they're having trouble accommodating that. So we're having to pay a considerable amount for additional care, which we were not prepared for. Aside from those additional outside care costs, it was the most affordable place I found.

I would say everyone is very nice and really do care. The residents help each other. My mother loves the classes and the food. She is starting to get a little tired of the same food now but loved it in the beginning. Everyone always says hi to her by her name, both residents and staff, when they pass her in the hallways. She loves that! The only thing she does not like is the rug. She says it's very rough on bare feet and she often catches her feet on the rug and almost falls. It's meant for a business not a home.

It has been a very good experience so far
This didn't work for my loved one due to the care needs for them. The screening process by the community could have been better. The staff communication overall was good and most of the time they were responsive to the family's questions. There were three meals a day provided to the residents, and they had choices to choose from. There is a delivery fee to deliver the meals to the resident's room. They had lots of activities available for the residents.

This place is great. The staff is pretty friendly, overall. They always treat my aunt with respect and care. There's not as much diversity as we'd like and it can be a little uncomfortable at times with the residents. And uncomfortable for me when I visit. The facility is clean, the marketing person is very helpful. Maintenance is pretty good. Overall, its been a good experience here. The food is good, but more variety would be great. My aunt says the meals are repetitive often. Her room has a nice view, has a stove and refrigerator. Communication with the family could improve, I have to reach out to them, they don't call me. But overall, a good choice for my aunt. I would recommend them to family and friends.

It has been pretty good experience so far. I chose this place because, it was closer to home and the least expensive. I was very impressed with the place and people. It's a very nice place. Sometimes the food is good, and other times it's okay.

The facility is mostly clean and well maintained. The carpets are very old and could use use a little updating. When my loved one first got there, she needed a lot of services, and we have since pared those down due to cost, as well as other reasons. She wouldn't ask for the help she needed when she needed it. She also wasn't getting the help showering and dressing that we were paying for. The services we did get were great. We just weren't getting all of them initially. Everybody there has been very, very nice. But I feel like we're getting nickeled and dimed. Their care services are a la carte, and that adds up quickly. We wish there was another option for pricing. The staff are wonderful though. They're very friendly and have gone out of their way to help my loved one feel welcome. They've gone out of their way to communicate with her with her hearing issues - writing on her white board, etc. She's very happy with the food, which is much better than a different facility she was at. If you don't like what they're serving, there are other options available. They advertise that snacks are available during the day, but don't provide them. They usually don't waive fees for food delivery to the room, even for serious medical reasons. They have worked with us and waived the delivery fee but are still charging a $(amount removed) packaging fee per delivery. In essence, it's a reduced delivery fee. But again, that adds up, and I wish they would just bring it to her. All in all, they offer good activities and services. They do her laundry and clean her apartment. The food is good They're very nice to her. It's expensive, but it gives us peace of mind.

They did not meet all of my needs, and I certainly couldn't afford their prices.
I like Brookdale Quincy Bay very much and my loved one is getting good care. I do wish that they would do something with the food, the quality could be improved and they could offer more of a variety, my loved one is limited on what she is able to eat. They are short staffed but that is an issue everywhere. She has some great aids during the day that she loves. I would absolutely recommend them to others looking.
The staff are very friendly. Some of their activities include parties and yoga. They could improve on their dining services, but the best thing about them are their CNA's and especially the front desk lady, as well as the laundry personnel. The hands on staff are very friendly. The corporate marketing team were also very helpful in coordinating my moms services for external agencies like physical therapy.

We recently moved back to eating in the dining room, so it's been interesting to meet people in that venue. I'm on the 1 meal a day program, and because they just reopened the dining room,(it was limited due to previous Covid restrictions), it's been a very pleasant experience. They provide a written menu, from which you can select from multiple different entrees, side dishes and desserts. They provide us with soft drinks, water, or coffee. We tend to sit at the same table, so you get to know your table mates well. We also receive waitress/waiter service at the table during meal time. I'd say if there's anything I find somewhat lacking here at Brookdale; it would be a dedicated exercise facility with workout equipment. I would definitely use that if it was available to me, but it isn't available at this moment. It may be coming at some point in time, but I haven't confirmed with the staff yet. In regards to the activities; despite the absence of an exercise facility, I think they do a good job at organizing activities. There are quite a few that I haven't gotten into the swing of attending regularly; but the ones I have attended were a lot of fun, and made me want to come back for more. My favorite thing about living here, because I am a people's person, would have to be interacting with other individuals here. Whether it's during meals and activities, or in common areas where people congregate. Overall I would recommend Brookdale Quincy Bay to others - try it, you'll like it.

I would move into Brookdale myself if I could afford it. The staff are nice, the food is good, and there are a lot of activities offered. They take the residents on outings to the mall and other places. You can play cards, or participate in group or individual activities. Each week there's a bulletin program where you can see all the activities they're going to have. They have guests who come in too, it's really a nice place. My friend is there and she's trying to take advantage of all the activities. I'm trying to motivate her to interact and engage as she can be a bit shy. I took a look at the food menu and they have a lot of good things I like. They serve coconut shrimp, fish, and different salads & soups. They give you the option of soup or salad, a main dish, two sides, and 3 different options for dessert. For drinks they have water, sodas, coffee, tea, and juice. You can mix and match, and eat what you want. I've also tasted it before and it was good, it wasn't bland. Overall I would definitely recommend Brookdale to others.
