Residents are falling and staff does not document it or notify the family.Housekeeping does not clean up. Families have to clean their loved ones rooms are it won't be cleaned. They have 25 to 30 residents in memory care with 2 to 3 staff members to attend to all of them.

The executive team and the care team provide excellent care for their residents. They truly care for the residents like family. The tenure outweighs turnover, by far! I would recommend them for my own mother.

The facility was a lifesaver for my dad and our familiy, after my dad had a stroke in June of this year, simply because my family did not want my dad to return to his home, and since we all were busy, this facility really works for helping to care for my dad a lot.

Response from Brookdale Cypress Station
September 19, 2023Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback!
My mother was in the memory care side and she did at first receive good care but after 1 yr being there she got diaper rash that got infected. This happened twice. Her hygiene was not kept up. Some of the staff would leave the residents alone in the dining room unattended. Her Room always smelled. Not kept up like it should be. Her clothes / personal items would disappear. My mom came so depressed there. After two years of this I decided to move my mom to a better care facility.

Out of all the stressful things that happened in the last 6 months, the people at Brookdale were a breath of fresh air. And the facility was beautiful and well run. The staff were very well qualified and friendly and they absolutely cared about the people they took care of. This included the entire staff, even the cleaning people and the maintenance man, I was very impressed. The business staff was also very fair. Due to my father's short stay before he went to a hospice, and the timing of the lease, they could have charged me for several weeks that they didn't charge me for.

The bathrooms aren't always clean in hallways and Mom 's room, the sofa in the common was soiled, $10 cost to bring food to the room if Mom is not wanting to go downstairs (she never eats breakfast too early for her), too often she sits in soil diapers for extended periods of time, common living area not clean (my aunt got the broom to clear cleat out cobwebs, when wanting to go to activities not always some is available and now I am told there is going to be a price increase.

They've been very good for us. Any issues we've had we've been able to work worked through with them. After 90 days, I really believe they care, from the janitorial staff on up to the director. They know my name and are very friendly. They're accommodating when I bring something to their attention. Even in an emergency we had, I think they rallied and did a great job in an unfortunate situation. They seem to have a lot of activities going on. I don't have any complaints.

I toured Brookdale Cypress Station and their costs were more efficient. I just didn't get that warm homey feeling here. We chose another community because the distance was also not a good fit for us.

I toured Brookdale Cypress Station and I knew that even though I liked it, it wouldn't have been a good fit. I didn't tour their memory care side because I didn't think she would be admitted to memory care, therefore I only saw the assisted living side. I didn't realize my mom would need memory care until after she was evaluated. So I looked into assisted living more than memory care initially. I loved the assisted/independent living but that wasn't apart of the rest of the community. The setup was a bit confusing in regards to where the dining room and rooms were located. Little by little I found out mom might need memory care, even though her dementia was very minimal and she was still fairly independent.
My tour was okay. I just took a quick, brief look. The staff were pretty good, although I think anywhere you go they all try to give a good first good impression during the sales process.

The staff is very friendly. They seem to be pretty responsive. It seems like our loved one is getting the care she needs, and we've not really had issues so far. Just a couple of little things. Her floor has been kind of sticky, not sure why. And it can smell like urine at times.

The tour guide for this community was great and actually gave me information for a discount due to my loved one working for a sister company. They also gave me information for another Brookdale that was closer to me, she sent videos and everything.
It's a very good location. The staff are friendly. They really take care of the residents and treat them like family. The nursing staff is very involved and concerned. My loved one says the food is good and seems satisfied with it. They have a lot of activities, but less right now due to Covid restrictions. Overall it's a great place.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Cypress Station 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score.
