After looking at several facilities Brookdale Central Paradise Valley has the best atmosphere. It feels comfortable, accessible and friendly! The room sizes here as well as the amenities that are offered to the residents are better than any of the other places that we looked at. I would and already have recommend Brookdale Central to others!

They do not even rate a 1...That place was HORRIBLE!! I would never ever put another family member in that house of horrors. The manager was condescending as well as never ever willing to take responsibility my poor father endured there. They put on a good show on the tour, but it was all lies. The money I paid for my dad was outrageous for him being ignored. They know how dissatisfied I was with their care of my 104 year old father. There were never any apologies to me or my dad, it was always mine or my dad's fault. I guess I was supposed to supervise the staff. Because that so called manager never got off her butt to check anything. I was expected to report to her if things did not change. I would have been in that women's office several times a day if that's the case. I was told by some staff that my dad wasn't the only resident being mistreated. They begged me not to mention their names, because they needed their jobs. Sad!

The staff are friendly, but they need more staffing. The wait time on calling for aids ranges from 20 to 45 minutes . Tray service for residents takes a long time resulting in food arriving cold. They need a better selection for food. Not all residents want Chinese food choices more than once a week. After the new year the cost for staying there rose $[removed] for the room. And personal care rose as well. Expect to pay from $[removed] a month to $[removed] per month depending on the level of care they assign. They need better pharmaceutical suppliers, the price for medications seems a bit high.

Communication between lead staff and care givers lacking. Activities for memory care poor. Not allowing residents outside in courtyard during day is unacceptable. Bathrooms needed to be updated. Not ideal for residents that use walkers or wheelchairs. Food sub-par. Felt like Grade school meals.

Our family had a virtual tour with Brookdale Central Paradise Valley and we thought it was a great tour experience, they were extremely friendly and really great with our loved ones.
We toured Brookdale Central Paradise Valley and it was a very good tour! The only downfall for us was the driveway. It just would have been too hard for my loved one to navigate.
What we really like about the Brookdale Central community is the friendliness of the people there. It has a very positive cultural atmosphere to it with all the residents living there - that can really make or break a community no matter what fancy stuff you bring in to it. An area that we do think could be slightly improved is just the frequency in which our loved ones trash is taken out - we do understands it is partially our loved ones fault and she does hold that responsibility but sometimes when we walk into her apartment it smells. However based on our experience we would recommend this community to other families.

They are very understaffed with their nurses and caregivers and that is causing a lot of issues. I know that is a common problem at the moment at a lot of places.

My loved one loves it here, and enjoys the staff and feels valued. They can do better with the billing system/invoicing. Overall, I would recommend to other famlies.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I also recommend you make sure the community will be able to meet your care expectations for your loved one. There are three meals a day served to the residents and they have choices to choose from. The staff will bring meals to our loved one's room if they ask for it. There is a place in the dining room for the family to join our loved one for meals. Some of the activities include bingo, outside entertainment, field trips, and more for the residents to engage with. The community allows pets and a specific time in the lobby for other residents to see the pets of the community.

It was a very clean community. The staff was extremely, friendly and helpful in the beggining but these have changed. My loved one was there a short period of time. There was a time, in which they were not able to take care of my loved one, and provide the care/attention that they needed.
