I would confidently give them a full 5-star rating. The three months my Aunt spent at Atria West 86 were truly exceptional. The staff displayed unparalleled attentiveness, kindness, and accessibility. This environment has been a perfect match for my Aunt, a social individual who thrives in a place where she feels respected and well-cared for. I wholeheartedly recommend Atria to others seeking outstanding care for their loved ones.

Atria West 86 is a beautiful community located just a few short steps from the picturesque Riverside Park. However, the feature that really sets it apart from other Assisted Living facilities is its incredible staff, who are helpful and engaged with residents in a variety of activities I have only seen here. As a guest lecturer who visits the community frequently, I have noticed that all programming is top-notch and gives residents a sense of independence and a fulfilling lifestyle that is unique. There is a positive energy to the place. I would highly recommend Atria West 86 to anyone who is looking to find a community that feels just like home.

I was excited given I needed assisted-living due to my health, having heard amazing things about this place for years being from NYC. Sadly, it was a very mixed and disappointing experience lasting only 5 months not my lifetime! Some staff were helpful, kind and supportive; others nasty, lazy and even vindictive to others! Also, several staff left while I was there because of the significant turmoil going on; hence service became even more inconsistent (ie few missed meals and several missed Saturday laundry services, etc) The best part was my social worker (who then left soon after I arrived!), my personal housekeeper, one maintenance man and a few front desk staff, a couple people in management & my nurses. The food was delicious plus the gorgeous rooftop/views amazing! Some management were incredibly absent and/or difficult (ie housekeeping and business office) Also, some “rules” and positive features even in print (handbook) on arrival randomly changed or stopped without warning.

June 20, 2023Your kind compliments mean the world to our team. It is our pleasure to serve our residents at Atria West 86 each and every day. Thanks for sharing your experience!
The facility is nice and the clinical staff are quite friendly and helpful. The problem is if you need to reach anyone in the administration forget it. They don't respond to calls or emails, they don't make repairs in the room, they raise the rates without telling you and then threaten to have you thrown out because you didn't know about the raise! All that for 14K a month for a studio apt!

We picked this community because, it was the closet location. It looked like a really nice place. It was beautiful, and well maintained. The staff was there to help, and bring my loved one down for meals, They got what they needed.

I am a resident of Atria West 86th for 2 months now. I was unfamiliar with the routine of the facility and was unsure whether I will like living here. Since admission, I have been receiving the assistance that I truly need. I moved in with several medical health conditions, but has improved with ADLs support from care staff. Everyone has been courteous and knows your name. I too enjoy the food. I feel comfortable and safe living here and could see myself staying long term.

I have been residing at Atria West 86th for 7 years and my experiences has been wonderful thus far. I truly enjoy the programs in the community. I take advantage of the in-house activities and outings as I like to keep myself socially active. Like today, I joined a group of our fellow residents to Ellis Island. My favorite activities are the 3 meals per day. The food are great and the menu changes all the time. It's great not having to do any kind of housework as services such as housekeeping, maintenance, and personal care are provided. Most importantly, the community handled the Covid pandemic very well. Staff kept us safe. I call Atria my home and I consider the staff and residents my family.

I am a new resident of Atria West 86th. My husband and I moved into the community on [date removed]. The move was a huge transition for my husband and I. Part of the decision to move to this community is to be near my daughter. We are still acclimating to the routine and appreciate the care and support that we are receiving. The quality of the food is great. Most importantly, the staff are wonderful. We benefit from services including the socialization activities in-house as well as the outings. Overall, we like it here as our new home.

We chose Atria West 86 because it was super clean, the friendliness of all of the staff, and they were super accommodating during the move in process and we really appreciated that. When you walk in there was no bad smell at all. [name removed] took us around and all of the residents loved her. She sat down and talked to us for a while and you could tell that she really cared and still does to this day, she is very responsive if I ever reach out to her. It was an incredible first impression and experience and they helped us out so much. I would definitely recommend them to other families looking.

When I die I don't want to go to heaven, I want to go to Atria West 86. The food is by far the best out of any place else I looked at. The other places I looked at had people in the dining room who were sitting down, but not talking with one another. At Atria, they sit and converse with each other. I find that the people are helpful with each other at Atria. When my friend moved in they told him all the things that weren't on the menu, which food was good, and which activities were the best. The residents seem more "with it" than other places and it feels more like living in a hotel. Other assisted living communities felt like living in a nursing home. They have a rooftop garden area that is absolutely amazing. You can see the Statue of Liberty and the George Washington bridge. It sits higher than the other buildings, it's just phenomenal. They also have a resident-run vegetable garden and like most places they have movies in the evening, but they a committee that picks the movies.

This community was very expensive and out of my loved ones budget. However, this community was very beautiful and nice.
We liked this community a lot. it was just too expensive for a studio. Also it was not near a lot of things to walk to. It was just near a park and not many other places. Also parking would have been a big problem when trying to visit.

March 9, 2022Hi Kathleen, It was our pleasure to show you and your family our community. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if we can support you further in your senior living search.
I'm a new resident who moved in late November 2021. I feel that I'm finally acclimating to the routine of the facility. Several things that I like is that my room is being kept clean, food prepared, and activities planned each day. I just joined a Book Club which I enjoy. Overall, the experience has been good and I'm getting use to the community.
