There was serious staff shortage, which cut into response time and the amount of time aides could spend with residents or patients who might require more help. Not true only of Atrium, of course. My brother, sister, and/or I were there every day. Several of the aides were wonderful despite their heavy workload. The care from the Compassionate Care hospice nurses and aides was great, and they coordinated with the Atrium team, team, although we could have used more hospice aide time (one hour or so in the mornings). Food was a bit inconsistent; some very good, some not. My mom was put on a non-solid diet for the last few weeks because her bottom partial denture broke; that was awful. Also, she barely ate (or drank) for several weeks. The food staff were very nice about that.) My mom was confined to her bed the entire three months after the third day she was admitted until she passed, she was very tired when she was awake, had some dementia, so was unable to participate in any activities. She slept much of the time. We were pleased with the care she received at the Atrium, although it wasn't as fancy or "luxurious" as others we saw. It was a few blocks from where I live in Jersey City, so that was a big factor I choosing it,and we didn't regret it.... Read more

The tour experience with Alaris Health at The Atrium was a 5. We loved the woman who was showing us around the facility. We did like it, but it was a bit un down and not as clean.
They have been very good and attentive to our daughter. I think it has been a good situation overall. We liked all of the staff who work here. We are a long distance away from her and we feel she is well taken care of. They have been great with communication. We have requested they hire different therapists and they have been good with that and give great feedback on them since we cannot be there. I would definitely recommend Alaris Health at The Atrium to others looking. I will say that the facility needs some cosmetic updates.
They still have some covid restrictions so there has not been many activities. They have loosened up some of the restrictions and opened up limited visitation. The activities that my loved one has done he enjoys. Definitely worth the money. So far they have given my loved one very good and meticulous care. They are not crowded and there is a high staff to resident ratio.

My husband has been at Alaris Health Atrium for four years. I can't praise them or thank them enough. The administration is always friendly, accessible, and responsive. The staff is extremely competent and caring. The facility is clean and attractive with a five story atrium and a couple of large terraces for safe outdoor access. I'm truly impressed by the care and kindness they've given my husband.

Loved the place, with a unique decoration and an a lovely outdoor patio! Great brochure, tour, explanation of every detail! They are open to have a person for few days to see how they get used to living in this place, without any contract. Nice recommendation!

I have no complaints of how things had went for my loved one and I during our tour of this community. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions I had for them in detail. I liked the open floor plan and all of the great amenities for the residents. The staff where professional and I did not feel pressured what so ever. It was just no the right fit for us in the end decision but I would recommend it to anyone.

A Place for Mom has scored Alaris Health at The Atrium 7.5 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
